Gary Richter
Senior Broker
Related Realty
One of Related Realty’s top agents, Gary Richter views real estate not as a career, but as a passion, one that brings great satisfaction in turning his clients’ real estate goals into a reality. “Life does not get any better than when your work is also your hobby,” he explains. “I cannot wait to get started each morning, because I truly enjoy everything about being a real estate broker and never get tired of the satisfaction gained from helping my clients.”
With more than 25 years of experience buying and selling, Richter’s extensive knowledge of the Chicagoland market benefits his buyers at the negotiation table and sellers when determining the best possible terms of sale. Dedicated and highly professional, Richter describes his approach as one of responsibility.
“I bring a deep sense of responsibility to my role as a senior real estate broker,” he says. “Whether my clients are first-time buyers, sellers, or experienced investors, it is my duty to represent each client with the utmost attention and protect their best interests. I credit much of my success to being a great listener. I focus on really listening to my clients’ needs and wants to ensure that I am honing in on what they are looking for in a property from the very beginning.” Richter’s successful approach, paired with his fierce dedication, has led him win first place in a companywide collaboration contest, in addition to winning the 2016 Related Realty listing contest.
As an active member of Giveback Homes – an organization dedicated to creating social change through homeownership – Richter donates a percentage of his commission to help build a home for a family in need. In 2015, he helped fund homes for families in Nicaragua and Haiti, and lead the movement to launch a similar building project in Chicago. Years ago, Richter and a partner started a halfway house in Batavia called “The Horizon House,” which they still own today. The Horizon House bridges the gap from graduating Wayside Cross rehab programs, and provides a safe place where guests can stay until they can get back on their feet.
