Fulton Grace Realty

T.J. Rubin defied the odds and launched Fulton Grace Realty in 2009, in the midst of one of the worst real estate markets in history. Seven short but action-packed years later, Fulton Grace has established itself as a major force in the Chicago real estate market. The firm now includes two offices (with a third slated for 2017), a team of nearly 100 real estate professionals, and one of Chicago’s largest property management portfolios of single-unit condos, totaling over 1,200 units. In 2015, Fulton Grace ranked No. 73 among all U.S. real estate firms on the Inc. 5,000 List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies and in the top half of all companies.

Fulton Grace houses three separate departments: a rapidly growing sales department, a vibrant rental department and an industry-leading single-unit condo property management division. The extraordinary synergy these departments share is evident in their interconnected services. Investment buyers commonly use Fulton Grace to help purchase, lease and manage investment properties, while “accidental landlords” entrust their investment to the firm’s property management department until the market is ready for them to sell with one of Fulton Grace’s sales brokers. Tenants in the company’s vast portfolio become much more than tenant-clients: when they are ready to buy a home, Fulton Grace’s team of sales brokers is ready to help.

After many years of actively practicing real estate, the Fulton Grace  management team focuses solely on growing each of their departments rather than directly servicing clients. “Making ourselves constantly available to our agents, rather than competing with them for business, allows us to support and develop our agents’ successful careers.”

Charlene McClendon oversees the sales department, which has enjoyed astonishing 275 percent year-over-year growth. “Meetings at Fulton Grace Realty always center around how we as a company can do more for our agents and our clients,” she says. “We strive to give our agents a supportive environment and provide them with as many new and innovative tools as possible. We are constantly trying new ideas to foster learning and growth. Our agents’ resulting success is extremely rewarding.”

Adam Ballog oversees the brokerage’s rental division. “I aim to implement cutting-edge rental strategies that make the rental process seamless for all parties,” he explains. Fostering talent is important to Ballog: “We want the agents on our team to feel like collaborators working together towards a common goal of success. To achieve that goal, we emphasize agents’ individual education and productivity.” Under Ballog’s supervision, the rental department consistently achieves record-breaking rental transactional volume.

Vice President of Property Management Carley Leonas says that many of her clients are first-time landlords who often need guidance. “As property managers we assume the responsibility of being a landlord so owners don’t have to, and we guide them on this unfamiliar path by offering valuable knowledge thanks to our years of experience,” she says. “I am well versed in delicately maneuvering each turn of the landlord’s role, and genuinely enjoy taking a proactive role in guiding our management team to provide the best service possible. I pride myself on our team taking the stress out of being a landlord and allowing clients to sit back and find comfort leaving their investment in Fulton Grace Realty’s capable hands.”
