Casey DeClerk knows how to make a difference. A past experience with an agent ignited her passion to pursue a career in real estate. She vows to create a memorable experience and remain a lifelong real estate advisor by developing relationships with clients based on trust, communication and market expertise. This past year she closed $28 million in transactions with her partner, Chris Mundy. DeClerk has doubled her sales volume every year since joining @properties in 2013, and had a 98.6 sale- to-list price ratio in 2015, earning her recognition as one of @properties’ top producers.
DeClerk specializes in working closely with first- time buyers, particularly because they appreciate her patience, negotiation skills and knowledge of the city’s many neighborhoods. She also works with sellers and renters, and is generous with her experience and knowledge of the local real estate market. “My clients’ interest is my only interest,” DeClerk says, pointing out that she always exceeds expectations to find the right property in this competitive market. Her strategies include connecting with other agents to find properties via the Top Agent Network, the @pp, and her roster of colleagues from previous rentals, expired listings, and closed properties. “I’ve closed more than $2 million so far this year by using these strategies,” she says.
DeClerk majored in psychology at the University of Iowa. Her previous experience working in the hospitality industry taught her lessons that have carried over into real estate. “That professional experience taught me patience, adaptability and compassion,” she says. Knowledge gained in her studies has helped her to offer clients the kind of support they need during what can be a very emotional time. She knows how important communication is, and strives to create connections with her buyers and sellers. “In today’s world communication is driven by texting and e-mailing, but I still prefer having conversations with people either in person or on the phone.”
DeClerk treats every client with honesty, integrity and kindness. “Nothing is better than when clients send a handwritten note about how happy they are to be in their new home,” she reflects. She also believes in giving back, and supports charities such as the Noah’s Arc Foundation, Keith Relief and the Off the Street Club by donating a portion of her commissions. While she is proud of what she has achieved since entering the profession four years ago, DeClerk is grateful for her partner’s support in making that happen. “I have tremendous respect for Chris [Mundy] and value our friendship. He’s helped lead me on the path to success, and that’s priceless.”
