Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty
Amy Pritchard’s extensive knowledge of Chicago’s micromarkets, luxury and new construction markets makes her one of the city’s leading real estate professionals. Ranked among the top 1 percent of agents by the Chicago Association of Realtors, she draws inspiration from her love of helping buyers, sellers and developers navigate the ever- changing and complex world of Chicagoland real estate. “I never lose sight of the fact that buying or selling a home is one of the most important financial decisions a person can make, so I want my clients to view me as a trusted advisor who has their best interest at heart.”
Pritchard enjoyed her work in real estate from the beginning: she worked for a mixed-use developer in marketing, leasing, and sales soon after graduating from Cornell University. Today, 10 years later, she leads a team of three and holds designations including Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Certified Negotiation Expert, and Seller Representative Specialist. Pritchard is particularly proud that her team offers white-glove service and takes an innovative approach to helping clients buy and sell property. For instance, she canvasses the streets and sends letters to homeowners to gauge their interest in selling when low inventory might otherwise prohibit her buyers from purchasing a home. Her sales strategy includes creating customized marketing plans for the homes she lists and meticulous follow up.
A problem solver who is always looking for the next challenge, Pritchard is relentless in fulfilling clients’ expectations. She recalls a recent example with a seller: “I listed a home that went under contract twice only to have things unexpectedly fall through due to no one’s fault,” she recalls. “I was determined to see this sale to the end and we ultimately sold the listing at the full asking price. Not only were my sellers delighted, but I was proud that my tenacity and laser focus helped them achieve their goal.”
Pritchard credits her intense motivation to her husband, two young boys and love for her city. “It’s a pleasure building a business in this city, which my family adores and where we plan to live forever,” she explains. In addition to her membership in the National Association of Realtors and Top Agent Network, she is a Young Presidents’ Organization Windy City Chapter Spouse and active volunteer at The Frances Xavier Warde School, which her children attend. Pritchard knows that to thrive in this unique profession, flexibility is key. “I have to know what I need to be for each client each day; that could include financial advisor, interior decorator and sometimes therapist!” she laughs. “What remains constant, however, is my promise of executing each transaction with integrity, sincerity and exceptional expertise.”
