Stephany Oliveros personifies the American Dream. “I have a very unique background as an immigrant from the Philippines who got into real estate with no existing network to back up my reputation or help build my client base.” Despite what might have seemed like overwhelming odds, Oliveros’ entrepreneurial spirit coupled with her degree in economics spurred her to pursue her real estate license three years after coming to the U.S. Doing so required tenacity and perseverance as she learned the city’s neighborhoods, studied its market trends and established a cadre of buyers and sellers as clients. Twelve years later, Oliveros ranks among the Chicago Association of Realtors’ Top 1%, a distinction she has held each year since 2011.
As Managing Broker of CHI Properties, Oliveros and her team leverage their years of expertise to support a range of clients from first-time buyers in premier neighborhoods to seasoned luxury property seekers. Their strategy, she explains, is straightforward but nonetheless savvy and pragmatic. “We analyze each client’s needs and tailor our service to meet specific real estate goals.” This approach has proven highly effective; Stephany and her team marketed and sold more than 600 properties. A primary key to her firm’s success, she adds, is its professionals’ ability to effectively negotiate on their clients’ behalf. “Our buyers and sellers expect us to thoroughly understand the market and its key drivers so that we can offer them guidance in knowing theirs and the other party’s BATNA – best alternative to a negotiated agreement — and strengthen their bargaining power.”
Oliveros is committed to helping other immigrants like herself become homeowners and actively participates in the Asian Real Estate Association of America. Furthermore, she adapts to the market when necessary, including during the recent economic recession. She successfully navigated that challenging time by acquiring new skills and deepening her knowledge of investments, foreclosures, short sales and real estate owned properties. Today, Oliveros and the CHI Properties team dedicate attention to ongoing training to ensure continued success because she knows that clients trust them to deliver winning results. Characterizing the real estate industry as one that is “24-7 and client-driven,” she is proud of the strong work ethic that she and her team demonstrate in every transaction. “We always go the extra mile!”
