Jorge A. Flores
Vice President of Banking
Neighborhood Loans
After nearly two decades in mortgage lending, Jorge A. Flores possesses rich insight about any of the complexities that can arise in the process and is extremely capable of helping his clients mitigate them. His extensive know-how puts first-time buyers, seasoned property purchasers and real estate investors at ease because he not only understands how home financing works, but also skillfully explains it to those who rely on his guidance and counsel.
“I look at this as my career, not my job,” Flores says. His introduction to finance actually began immediately upon his high school graduation when a local bank offered him a loan officer position. The opportunity fit his bilingual speaking skills and his passion to help others. Flores ultimately leveraged the knowledge he developed in that role and through the bank’s in-house training to transition to his current position of structuring mortgages for those who aspire to own a home in Chicagoland.
Dedicated and willing to support clients seven days a week, Flores customizes his strategy for each buyer to ensure he meets individuals’ specific needs. “I approach each client as if he or she’s the only client I have to make sure is completely satisfied with my service and the steps we follow to purchase his home.” Flores is frequently asked to help solve financing issues for those who have previously been denied a mortgage. He is generally able to resolve matters because, as he puts it, “I don’t like to give up; if there’s a will, there’s a way!”
Flores largely credits his strong work ethic to his mother, a single parent who instilled modesty and tenacity within him. “She’s a strong woman who has helped me become the person I am and she inspires me daily,” he says. Honored as Neighborhood Loans’ top loan officer of the month, he views himself as an educator who helps people understand the advantages of buying a home and the tremendous satisfaction it can bring. “The smile my clients have at closing is priceless!”
