From jumbo loans to family mortgages, Drew Boland has traveled from one end of the spectrum to the next in his 10 years as a mortgage lender, nine of which he’s spent with Guaranteed Rate, one of the largest independent mortgage companies in the country. Throughout his tenure with the firm, Boland has stood out as a top-producing lender, consistently being named among Guaranteed Rate’s President’s Club members, who are awarded the title for annually closing more than $50 million in loans.
Boland attributes his success not to his knowledgeability of the mortgage process and the market, which is considerable, but to his dedication to his clients and overall business. In only two years, Boland’s business, which relies almost exclusively upon referrals, has grown by more than 50 percent.
“The sky is the limit in this business,” he says. “There is no ceiling to the level of service my team can provide our clients or referral partners, and no cap to the amount of deals we can close. Our structure and business plan is set up to handle the needs of as many clients or referral partners as we have at one time – which can be several.”
Managing a small team of six, Boland cultivated an effective and streamlined setup for handling a considerable client list without sacrificing service.
“In designating clear job descriptions for each of my team members,” he says. “I am allowed the time to focus specifically on serving the client.”
Hoping that his commitment to improving the loan process with a personal touch continues to aid his success, Boland expects business to double by 2016.
