Vice President of Residential Lending
Daniel Chookaszian, a vice president of residential lending at PERL Mortgage, describes his business style as “relationship-based, proactive and structured,” but it’s his personal touches with clients that set him apart.
“Many lenders communicate with clients over the phone and through email,” he says. “I arrange face-to-face consultations with a majority of mine. By doing that, I learn things I never could at a distance.”
That personal touch, combined with the support of a devoted team and his own ability to see both the details and the big picture, have achieved enviable results and brought him recognition. He was a PERL Mortgage Platinum Top Producer in 2013, and financial columnist Terry Savage has cited him repeatedly as a mortgage expert.
His clients also enjoy working with him. “One of my recent clients is a VP of a Fortune 500 company,” he says. “After closing, she called me ‘tenacious’ and offered me a job.”
He appreciated the compliment, but Chookaszian is staying with his mortgage lending because there’s still so much to do; he wants to grow his business 1 percent per week and close $150 million in yearly volume by 2019.
