Brett Lotsoff, Senior Loan Officer/Branch Manager
Jorden Brok, Senior Loan Officer
Mortgage Master
Neither Brett Lotsoff nor Jorden Brok anticipated a career as mortgage originators, but after nearly a quarter of a century each as top producers, these Mortgage Master professionals have certainly found their niche, appreciating the fact that theirs is a profession that encourages an entrepreneurial spirit. “It’s inspiring to build a business from scratch and know that you’re really going to get back everything you put into it,” says Brok. “Clients expect us to provide the best deal structure, loan program, interest rate and closing costs possible,” says Lotsoff, “and we aim to guide them through the process smoothly to ensure their satisfaction.”
Lotsoff achieves this by leveraging the analytical skills of his former career as an attorney. A graduate of New York University School of Law, he previously practiced at a large national firm and relies on his problem solving abilities when simplifying the complexities of mortgage lending for his clients. “I tailor my approach to meet my clients’ needs because I want to be certain that I connect with them in a way that makes them most comfortable,” explains the senior loan officer and branch manager of Mortgage Master’s Northbrook office. “Some want me to lead them through the lending process without informing them of the details; others want to know the intricacies of the process and ask a lot of questions. No matter what they prefer, I’m always customer-centric”.
Since his clients range from first-time buyers to luxury purchasers, Lotsoff possesses extensive experience in an array of mortgage finance options. However, he finds that about half of the mortgages he structures are jumbo loans for high-end residences, making this type of financing his specialty.
Brok also works with a range of clients, but particularly enjoys helping first-time homebuyers. “I’m committed to explaining the process to them with care and accuracy,” he says, adding that an outstanding experience has led to many long-term relationships with clients. This senior loan officer draws on the fast pace of New York City, his hometown, to help him keep up with the rapidity of the real estate market and the loan industry. Boasting more than $1.1 billion in closed loan volume, the Scotsman Guide has ranked him among the country’s top originators for the last nine years and named him as one the country’s top producers for dollar volume in 2014 thanks to his 132 closed loans totaling $54 million. Mortgage Executive magazine also recognized him last year as among the top 1 percent of originators in the U.S. Also, by June of this year, he had already eclipsed last year’s total closing volume.
Both Lotsoff and Brok value the time they spend with their family, the source of their greatest inspiration. Also avid sports fans, they find that the rest and relaxation they enjoy outside of the office recharges them to serve clients to the best of their ability. Each is committed to ongoing professional development and respect the knowledge that their colleagues impart. “It’s important to always evolve professionally,” says Lotsoff. Brok credits the Mortgage Master team. “I’m very fortunate to work alongside some tremendous colleagues who are highly talented, and there’s nothing better than to listen and learn from the people who know this business better than anyone.”
