Before Jason Mandl worked in lending, he helped corporate clients design, build and furnish office spaces to attract and retain talent, optimize efficiency and reflect company culture. To ensure a smooth process, these multiphased projects required planning and communication, the same skills he brings to mortgage lending.
Mandl, a senior home lending advisor with JPMorganChase, has built a business based mostly on referrals. By consistently delivering first-class service, he built the necessary trust with past clients, co-workers and networking partners to make them feel comfortable sending customers his way. A big compliment he often hears from clients is that the process was easier than they anticipated. Part of the reason for that is that he gets preapprovals done early, before the home search begins.
“I like to tell clients I live in a world of certainty,’’ Mandl says. “Listing agents and the sellers they represent want as much certainty as possible that a home sale is going to go through. That’s why it’s important to gather as much information as possible when going through the preapproval process. I let clients know it’s best to take care of most of the work on the front end to provide that certainty.”
The other part of it is the knowledge he’s gained from years of experience in the industry, which gives him the ability to identify potential roadblocks and solutions before they become a problem. A dedicated professional, he provides past clients with the follow-up and ongoing support they deserve. “I don’t look at a purchase as a one-and-done transaction,” Mandl says. “By maintaining that relationship, I can continue to provide advice and look for opportunities to help them find ways to pay off their mortgage quicker or refinance to save money.”
