Professional, relatable and kindhearted, Melanie Everett is obsessed with processes, insanely committed to customer service and believes the client is always right. “I strive to put others first in every situation,” she says.
Everett is the founder and managing broker of her boutique brokerage, Melanie Everett & Company. She is incredibly grateful for the talented women on her team who serve the city and western suburbs. A 2017 REALTOR Magazine 30 Under 30 honoree, Everett led her team to earn a 2023 Chicago Association of Realtors’ Platinum Award, rank among CAR’s Top 1% Producing Teams for five consecutive years and be named a 2023 Top 100 Team by Chicago Magazine.
Everett started in real estate at age 21, nearly a decade ago. “I closed my first sales as a senior at DePaul,” she recalls. “Starting young was extremely difficult. I had to ‘prove’ myself and show that age is but a number. This experience really made me more polished over the years, and I do think it helped me rise up the ranks.”
A Lincoln Park resident, Everett grew up in Hinsdale and moved to Chicago during college. Fond of writing from a young age, she majored in journalism but pivoted the summer before senior year. Her father, a passionate entrepreneur, suggested she try real estate. “On a total whim, I emailed the managing broker of the Coldwell Banker Gold Coast office,” she recalls. “The rest is really history. I took a job as an unlicensed assistant to Hunter Andre, all the while studying for my exam. I launched my real estate career at CB between classes at DePaul.”
Being a strong communicator and storyteller has helped her build effective systems and create winning marketing strategies. “Clients love our marketing, resources and even our signature French Blue ‘for sale’ signs,” she says.
