The people have chosen

by Agent X

We’ve all been patiently waiting for the results of the Agents’ Choice Awards, and I actually won’t have any idea who the winners are until this goes to print. As you can probably guess, Agent X is not the best at keeping secrets. Speaking of which, let’s get to the gossip!

Turns out Sarah Ware is not only an awesome real estate agent, she’s also an accomplished artist. She recently shared an Insta pic of a painting she created currently hanging at Gallery Guichard. Sarah, give me a buzz. I’ve got walls in my mansion that could use some beautifying.

Two Chicago juggernauts are finally joining forces. Guaranteed Rate and @properties are partnering up to create a new firm in 2020: Proper Rate. First, we find out that ganja will be legalized in Chicago in 2020, and now this exciting news? The New Year can’t come fast enough. Also, managing broker Phil Byers is doing some moving and shaking. After 15 years with Keller Williams-Lincoln Park, he announced via the most trusted news outpost, Facebook, that he will be headed to Compass Chicago.

Riccardo Wardlow Jr. opened up a new loanDepot office in Bolingbrook. Sean Cochran’s Insta post gave us a taste of the rocking wardrobe choices sported at the grand opening event. From classic fedoras to matching chartreuse ties and pocket squares, this is the type of party Agent X likes to attend.

In other news, Marki Lemons-Ryhal was inducted into the REBAC Hall of Fame. For those of you peons unsure of what REBAC stands for, it is the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council. The International organization has more than 30,000 members, which means a lot of people really like Marki. And in other other news, Tommy Choi strikes again. He recently put up a “caption this” picture of Matt Silver, which resulted in many hilarious responses. The best was probably from Chris Pezza, who put these words in Silver’s mouth: “I want that pasta salad, but I don’t want to pay for the whole salad bar.”

As I’m sure we all noticed, winter has come a little early this year. Some suburbs decided to postpone Halloween, which — let’s be honest — isn’t an actual thing. October 31 is Halloween — that is all. Folks in the city and the brave and proud suburbs who aren’t afraid of a little weather still enjoyed tromping through the snow and begging neighbors and strangers to give them free candy. We also all turned our clocks back, or forward. I still am not sure. All I know is that now it gets dark at 3pm, which means it is time for me to head to my private island to hibernate.

Somehow, November is already here, so let’s give a shout out to November birthdays! Alex Chaparro celebrates on Nov. 12, while Craig Hogan and Sandra Snaidauf share a Nov. 13 bday. Joe Brocato, Jim Miller and Alan Lev are birthday triplets on Nov. 14, while Steve Baird is all alone on Nov. 16. Ron Ruby will party on Nov. 18, and maybe should give Steven H. Baumann and Paul Lazarre a buzz on Nov. 19 and 20 (respectively) to see if they want to grab a birthday drink.
