Monique Washington, sales associate with the Chatham office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, has announced the winner of her February, black history essay writing contest. Tamesha Williams-Burns, of Hazel Crest, submitted the winning essay out of multiple entries.
Williams-Burns, 12, is a seventh grader at Robert Frost Middle School in Hazel Crest. Her paper, titled “Gifted Hands,” the story of Dr. Benjamin Carson, earned her $50.
