REMAX: Chicago home sales gain ground in June

by John Yellig

The pace of Chicago home sales jumped 14.1% month over month and 4.5% year over year in June to 10,993 transactions, according to the latest REMAX National Housing Report.

Nationally, home sales in the 51 metro areas surveyed by REMAX showed measured growth of 8.9% month over month and 7.8% year over year, REMAX said.

“June’s housing data points to a market with stronger momentum but not a broad supply reset,” REMAX President and Chief Growth Officer Chris Lim said. “Sales picked up, inventory continued to expand and prices remained steady year over year. For consumers, that means local conditions still matter.”

The number of homes for sale in June rose 5% month over month and 2.5% year over year. Months’ supply of inventory was 2.7 months, up from 2.5 months in May and the same as June 2025. New listings slid 1.9% month over month and rose 2.4% year over year.

The national median sales price rose 2.4% month over month and 2.2% year over year to $460,000. The average close-to-list-price ratio was 99%, the same as in May and the year before.
