A joint venture between Wingspan Development Group and Tucker Development recently delivered the first luxury rental townhomes at The Henry at Harms Woods mixed-use community in Skokie.

The project will offer a total of 294 residences — 245 apartments and 49 rental townhomes — and 13,000 square feet of commercial space. Move-ins began in August, with the balance slated to take place through the fall.

“The Henry at Harms Woods is another example of how we’re working to meet demand for new rental options in Chicago’s suburbs,” Wingspan Vice President of Development Jason Macklin said. “We’re seeing more people of all ages, from young professionals to downsizers and snowbirds, lean into the flexibility and lack of maintenance that comes with renting.”

The development was designed by HKM Architects + Planners and is being built by Nicholas & Associates. It will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and three- and four-bedroom townhomes. The Maple and Oak plans, which offer four bedrooms, 3.5 baths and approximately 2,500 square feet, start at $6,800 per month.

All townhomes feature quartz countertops, Bosch appliances, smart thermostats, Moen fixtures, full-size LG washer/dryers, Google doorbells, two-car garages and second-floor balconies, while some units also have first-floor patios.

Community amenities include an outdoor pool with sun deck, lounge with grilling stations, fitness center, resident conference rooms/offices and ground-floor commercial space.

The 11-acre development, located at 5424 Old Orchard Road, is next to the 108,000-square-foot Life Time Fitness health club and a half mile from Westfield Old Orchard mall. It’s also adjacent to the 400-acre Harms Woods Nature Preserve and the North Branch Trail System.

“With infill space at a premium in Chicago’s mature suburbs, we were very fortunate to be able to find and develop this incredible site,” Tucker Development President and Chief Investment Officer Aaron Tucker said. “The Henry offers luxury living in a highly amenitized campus environment, combining proximity to the North Shore, major shopping and dining destinations and downtown Chicago with the comfort of hundreds of acres of natural surroundings immediately adjacent to the project.”
