REKAP Group, which bills itself as Chicago’s youngest real estate team, is moving to Compass. Since its founding 2.5 years ago, the team has been with with Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty (JSIR).

Michael Kaplan leads REKAP Group. He’s been in real estate for almost five years, having left college to enter the business at age 20. In 2022, he earned JSIR’s Rookie of the Year award.

In addition to Kaplan, REKAP Group includes agents Gordy Baba and Sasha Rozhko. In 2024, the trio was recognized by JSIR for overseeing the most leasing transactions. They earned Silver and Platinum team awards from the firm as well.

Now at Compass, REKAP Group will operate out of the brokerage’s Lincoln Park office. With over 350 leasing transactions under their belt, Kaplan, Baba Rozhko and hope to convert renters into becoming buyers and investors themselves. “That is really our business model,” Kaplan told Chicago Agent. “The renter-to-homeowner pipeline.”

Reflecting on the move, Kaplan said REKAP Group expects to utilize Compass’ technology and support to become more robust and efficient.
