What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Being a EMT, I was able to ride with the Chicago Fire Department, which was actually my dream job. The calls we went on were wild. I will forever support our Chicago Fire Department and Police Department.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Dunning, close to Harlem and Addison, known as Chicago’s “other” Little Italy.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
If I could meet any superstar, I think it would be Leonardo da Vinci. His brilliance extended across art, science and innovation, making him fascinating.
What is Chicago’s best-kept secret?
Hands down, Mario’s Italian Ice! You need to try the watermelon. It has actual chunks of watermelon in it. I always went as a kid with my parents.
What do you love most about the industry?
Honestly, I love referrals and repeat business because it means that I am changing people’s lives, and they remember the experience. They remember that I actually care about their families, and they’re not just a paycheck to me.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I’m just me. Love me or hate me, I am my authentic self. I have a tattoo that says I’m perfectly imperfect. My clients have my undivided attention from beginning to end, and they feel like they are my only client, whether I’m juggling two, five, 10 or 20 deals at the same time. I don’t think every Realtor can actually say that genuinely.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
My best device is to work hard. This isn’t for the faint of heart. And if you can’t grind, then, I think you need to be in another industry.
What has been your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is my children. And I’m getting a little emotional, but my daughter Gianna wanted to follow in my footsteps. She’s only 19, and she is on my team, and she is a Realtor.
What’s your favorite meal in Chicago?
I am Italian, therefore my favorite meal is my home-cooked Puttanesca. It’s spaghetti in a tomato sauce with capers and olives and garlic. It’s delicious.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Hustle. Consistency is key, and don’t give up.
