Drussy Hernandez will step down as president of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® (CAR) due to “external professional obligations,” the organization announced Friday.
The move will take effect May 15, at which time President-Elect Erika Villegas will move into the role of president.
“We are grateful for all of Drussy’s efforts as our president and her commitment for ensuring Realtors’ success,” CAR said in a statement to members.
“We know there are a lot of changes happening in our industry, and we want to assure you that we are focused on providing you with the tools and services needed for your success.”
Hernandez is vice president of brokerage services at Coldwell Banker Realty. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the National Association of Realtors, the Illinois Association of Realtors, the Women’s Council of Realtors, the Asian American Real Estate Association of America, the Dearborn Realtist Board and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals.
Villegas is designated managing broker and co-owner at RE/MAX In The Village in Oak Park. She is a top 1% producer of the Chicago Association of Realtors and among the top 250 Latino Real Estate Agents by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, according to her RE/MAX bio.
