Association Executive of the Year: Michelle Mills Clement, Chicago Association of REALTORS®

A passionate voice for fair housing and anti-racism in the real estate industry, Michelle Mills Clement, FASAE, CAE, RCE, is chief executive officer of the Chicago Association of REALTORS®. 

Under her leadership, in 2018, the Chicago Association of REALTORS® issued an apology for past actions in promoting inequality and segregation in Chicago. Mills Clement also cohosts the “Texts to Table” podcast, along with three of her Black association executive peers, focused on diversity, equity and inclusion.

She is also a 2019 Crain’s Chicago Business “40 Under 40” honoree and one of Bisnow Chicago’s “Rising Stars” and “Power Women” in commercial real estate. In 2020, she was featured on the prestigious Swanepoel Power 200 list. That same year, she earned her first Chicago Agents’ Choice Award.

More recently, Clement was honored with ASAE’s Key Award, one of the highest honors for association chief staff executives, as well as with Roosevelt University’s Industry Changemaker Award for her efforts to make positive changes in the real estate industry.

Clement also earned the Chicago Agents’ Choice Award for Association Executive of the Year in 2022.
