The Barbie craze is still sweeping the nation. I can’t be the only one greeting everyone I see with, “Hi, Barbie,” right? I saw the movie more than twice. and I even took it a step further by checking out the HGTV show where experts designed and renovated a life-sized Barbie Dream Home! Obviously the show featured a very specific type of new construction, but I think we can call it “new” nonetheless. So, when taking a break from scouring the city for new construction options for your clients, maybe take a moment and soak in some Barbie. You can thank me later.
Summer is winding down and, according to my Facebook feed, it’s time to shuffle your offspring back to school. That means it’s time for the real estate industry to get our party on!
Agents from Jameson Sotheby’s International decided to get out of dodge for a bit and gathered at Beacon SIR in Saugatuck, Michigan, for a weekend of house tours, boating, and networking. Not necessarily in that order, and I bet some multi-tasked and combined all of those into one.
From Aug. 14-16, powerhouse real estate leaders from around the country gathered in Chicago for the annual Women’s Council of Realtors’ 360 leadership conference.
On Aug. 17, Dream Town Real Estate hosted a grand opening celebration for its new West Loop office. The drinks flowed and the DJ kept the party going, while agents and other industry members got their boogie on. I must say if Barbie were searching for a real estate agent, I could see Dream Town being the right fit.
Seems like summer is also a time for team building, as John Greene Realtor in Naperville held an outing with Naperville Kayak. Nothing builds camaraderie and team spirit more than tipping over a kayak filled with agents!
The @properties Christie’s International Real Estate folks were holding on to the last bits of summer at the company’s annual summer party on Aug. 24. Held at Paradise Park in Wicker Park, the event featured assorted types of food and both adult and not-so-adult bevvies. Co-founders and co-CEOs Mike Golden and Thad Wong also raffled off Airpods and tickets to various Chicago sporting events.
Final shoutout to these summer babies, up until September 22, at which time folks turn into pumpkin-spicebabies. First, let’s raise our glass to Ivona Kutermankiewcz on Sept. 6 and Tariq “TK” Khwaja on Sept. 8. Sept. 9 is a big day in the real estate world as we celebrate the births of Larry Steinway, Bob Floss and Dustin Schaff. Sept. 12 is also pretty huge with Sara Hulsebus, Reno Manuele, Cory Robertson and Dan Gjeldum all getting more fabulous. Speaking of fabulous, don’t forget to toast Paulette Rodriguez on Sept. 13! Sept. 15 belongs to Michael Cozzi, while Mo Dadkhah and Lori Wyatt share Sept. 16. I expect to be invited to a big party in honor of Teresa Ryan, Evelyn Fred, Julie Harron and Chicago Agent’s own superstar Anne Hartnett on Sept. 19. Maybe the party will even dip into the 20th in honor of Jessica Kern and Bill Knapp. Rounding out September is Ian Schwartz on the 23rd, and then we can scoot into October and celebrate Natalie Carpenter on the 1st.
