How young REALTORS® are keeping themselves ahead of the technology curve

by Ramona Ruskuls

No one understands the importance of keeping up with the ever-evolving real estate technology landscape like young Realtors. From using artificial intelligence to predicting property prices to leveraging virtual and augmented reality to help buyers envision the potential of a space, young REALTORS® are leading the way in experimenting and succeeding with new technology.

This is especially evident when you look at young professional groups like Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS’® Young Professional Network (YPN). The goal of Mainstreet’s YPN group is to coordinate opportunities for newer real estate professionals of all ages to connect with valuable, timely education; cutting-edge resources; and strategic relationships that will help them grow in their careers and succeed in business. Increasingly, the focus of this group’s gatherings and online conversations has been on emerging technology.

As an example, we’re currently gearing up for YPN’s July Taco Tuesday Mastermind, which Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® hosts in partnership with NAHREP® DuPage County, the voice for Hispanic real estate in and around DuPage. The event is structured as an “unconference,” where attendees drive the agenda, and the young professionals who are involved have chosen to focus largely on tech. July’s Taco Tuesday Mastermind breakout sessions will provide attendees with the opportunity to discuss topics like using TikTok and Reels to promote properties and staying in compliance with ever-changing social media policies.

The event will also feature a keynote from Cyrus Mohseni, a past NAR 30 Under 30 honoree. Mohseni is an expert marketer known for leveraging innovative strategies and cutting-edge technologies to help clients sell their properties for the best prices in the shortest time. His keynote will give Taco Tuesday Mastermind attendees the opportunity to discuss entrepreneurship, sustainability, growth and success in a rapidly changing tech-focused marketplace.

“We’re so excited to come together once again to learn from each other and from speakers like Cyrus about the topics that matter to young professionals. More and more, those topics have centered around emerging technology,” said Emily Kaczmarek, the chair of Mainstreet’s YPN committee. “I can’t wait to see what this next generation of REALTORS® that I’m lucky to be part of does with all the amazing technology we have at our fingertips.”

Another tech event coming up this summer is our tech conference called Propel. Scheduled for Aug. 22, we have a great deal of tech content on the agenda, including AI, copyright and lead generation, just to name a few.

Beyond YPN events, Mainstreet’s YPN members are always in discussion about the latest in tech and real estate online, via the YPN Facebook group. It’s a great place for budding real estate professionals to support one another and to ask questions about everything from the metaverse to blockchain.

Mainstreet Organization of Realtors’® Young Professional Network is open to Mainstreet members of all ages, career stages and experience levels who are looking for an entry point to become more successful in their careers and gain leadership experience.
