A passionate voice for fair housing and antiracism in the real estate industry, Michelle Mills Clement is the chief executive officer at the Chicago Association of REALTORS® (CAR). Under her leadership, in 2018, CAR issued an apology for past actions in promoting inequality and segregation in Chicago.
With three of her Black association executive peers, Clement co-hosts the “Texts to Table” podcast which focuses on diversity, equity and inclusion. She is a 2019 Crain’s Chicago Business “40 Under 40” honoree and one of Bisnow Chicago’s “Rising Stars” and “Power Women” in commercial real estate. In 2020, she was featured on the prestigious Swanepoel Power 200 list. That same year, she also earned her first Chicago Agents’ Choice Award.
More recently, Clements was honored with ASAE’s Key Award, one of the highest honors for association chief staff executives, as well as with Roosevelt University’s Industry Changemaker Award for her efforts to make positive changes in the real estate industry.
