CA: What are some of Motto Mortgage Home Services specialty products?

DA and KJ: We have a very diverse portfolio as well as access to wholesale rates — the lowest in the industry. We offer multiple loan products including conventional, FHA, VA, USDA and jumbo. In addition, we offer non-QM products, including bank statement, 1099, DSCR, investment loans, reverse mortgages, asset only, DPA and 203(k) renovation loans.

CA: How do you work with the real estate community?

DA and KJ: We are proud members of The Chicago Association of Realtors, NAHREP Chicago and The Dearborn Realist Board, and we attend as many events as possible. We also offer first-time homebuyer seminars, webinars and educational seminars for our real estate agents. CA: What qualities do you attribute to your success?

DA and KJ: We have built our business on our belief in building strong relationships and trust. As a husband-and-wife team, we divide up tasks to each person’s strengths. We love building together and having an equal part in our achieved success. We have been married for over 10 years and truly work as a team — something that has really helped us to be more successful in this competitive industry.

We are committed to making every day impactful by focusing on exceptional customer service, transparency and serving our community. We both come from families who built their businesses upon these principles. We were taught the value of business ownership at a young age, along with a balance of helping others and giving back to our community. Becoming successful entrepreneurs has always been a dream of ours in an effort to not only become financially independent but to continue to make a difference within our communities.

CA: How has your business contributed to the local community?

DA and KJ: Giving back has always been important to us. During our early years, we both had an opportunity to partner with several nonprofit organizations that provided financial assistance, community service and education to ethnic minorities in underserved communities. Increasing home ownership in these communities is one of the biggest challenges confronting the mortgage industry.

Currently, we are a proud supporter of Mission Against Hunger to end hunger in our communities. The Motto Mortgage Mission Against Hunger was founded as a way for our nationwide network to give back to the communities we serve every day. Through our food drives, we provide “Mission Against Hunger Bags” to our Realtors and preferred partners, which they fill with non-perishable food items. Our team then picks up donations from their offices and delivers them to our local food pantry. When they fill a Mission Against Hunger bag, they are helping some of the one in seven Americans who rely on food pantries to survive.

CA: What are your goals for the near future?

DA and KJ: The Motto Mortgage network of offices has helped over 10,000 families realize their dream of home ownership in 2020. Our goal is to not only become successful industry leaders but to also open additional locations to be able to service more clients. We also want to partner with more organizations to find ways to continue to be involved in educating new homeowners on the importance of homeownership, building generational wealth and preparing financially for the future.
