The former NFL running back Emmitt Smith has listed his Dallas home for $2.2 million — a nod to his own Dallas Cowboys number, 22. The impressive, 10,806-square-foot house boasts five bedrooms and nine bathrooms… in addition to one extra, unusual feature: a dinner date with the athlete himself.
Smith’s listing made news this week, thanks to the surprising pledge. “The owner makes it extremely unique. There is only one Emmitt Smith and only one house he has lived in after his football career,” explained listing agent Arthur Greenstein of Douglas Elliman Real Estate and Y+A Real Estate & Asset Management. “I’m the one that supposedly has to pay for [the dinner]. He’s a great host and a great guy, and he loves to be out and about in Dallas. He’s an international superstar and is known not just for football but also for ‘Dancing with the Stars.'”
Smith competed on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2006, winning the show’s third season. (He also returned to the program, in 2015, for the “All-Stars” season.) Smith played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1990 to 2002. He won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys and is an NFL Hall of Famer. It was during Smith’s time on the team that he moved into his Dallas mansion: the one that’s now hitting the market.
Private dinner perk aside, Smith’s home also includes a cook’s kitchen, two offices, two living rooms, a media room, a game room, a multi-jet shower system, large closets, a steam room, two master suites — one with a sitting area — a multi-jet shower system, a jetted tub, three large closets and a steam room.
