Built in 1941 as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal, this firehouse in Manteo, North Carolina, has been converted into a home that’s priced at $599,000. It includes two large garage bays, a workshop and an abundance of open space that can be dedicated to multiple purposes. The structure used to be home to the Roanoke Island Fire Department and served as a meeting place for the town of Manteo.
