Predicting the future of real estate technology

by Rincey Abraham

More data to help agents serve clients

Buyers and sellers are coming to agents with more information, but a key component that an agent brings to the table is knowing how to properly interpret data and provide more information based on what they are interested in.

Thaddeus Wong, co-founder of @properties, recognizes that and wants to equip his agents to be prepared when handling clients, which is why the company is launching a new interactive CMA tool. Coming out this fall, the tool will allow agents to move from the static CMA that is currently available using the MLS to an interactive CMA. This will give agents access to relevant listings, allow clients to interact with a map and receive information based on different variables — all while staying within the @properties platform to decide on prices and understand the market.

The platform, which was built from scratch, will also provide agents with information on what properties clients are saving while searching. This allows the agent to become more informed about what buyers and sellers are interested in.

While Wong hopes that these new pieces of technology will help @properties brokers do their job better and more efficiently, he does recognize that there is a challenge in constantly introducing new systems. However, any resistance he may see can eventually be overcome with enough practice, training and information so that the end result is always positive.

“There’s always an issue with change. There’s comfort in redundancy,” Wong says. “It’s a pain to change their process, but I can’t tell you how many grateful emails we’ve received for saving time in the broker’s life.”
