Technology is changing at such speed that it can be difficult to stay up to date on the latest trends. From new social media networks to mobile apps to virtual reality, the number of tech tools available to Realtors is increasing exponentially every year.
According to the National Association of Realtors, nearly half of real estate firms have said that keeping up with technology will be one of their biggest challenges in the next two years. Determining the resources that best help their business can allow Realtors to keep up with buyers and sellers as they become more tech-savvy.
Buyers and sellers are not waiting around to find their perfect homes. Instead they are actively seeking out information online before they are ready to contact an agent.
NAR found that 44 percent of homebuyers looked online for properties first. These online searches are often used by the buyers to compare homes on the market, see how homes are being priced, and determine what features and amenities are available — all before talking to a professional.
“Simply having data doesn’t impress a client; they want a better experience and a better quality of service,” says Casey Reagan, chief technology officer at RE/MAX Northern Illinois. And the latest technology can allow agents to better find, reach and serve their clients if utilized.
