Winnetka is the most expensive housing market in Illinois, according to the annual Home Listing Report from Coldwell Banker.
With the average price of a four-bedroom, two-bath single-family home going to $840,355, Winnetka came out on top in the report, with Lake Forest, Hinsdale and other wealthy Chicagoland suburbs following close behind.
Winnetka is also among the most exclusive communities in the country. The suburb’s population is a mere 12,000, its median income is above $207,000, and last year, 24/7 Wall Street named it the second-richest city in America.
