Lynn Madison Named 2011 Illinois Realtor of the Year

Lynn Madison of Lake Zurich was named the 2011 Illinois Realtor of the Year. Madison is a real estate broker and is owner of Lynn Madison Seminars, Inc. A Realtor of the Year banquet will be held honoring Madison on April 6th at the Hilton Hotel in Springfield.

The Realtor of the Year award is presented to the one member of the Illinois Association of Realtor who best exemplifies the professional qualities of a Realtor. The award recognizes leadership in the Realtor Association as well as service to civic, community and charitable causes.

“Lynn Madison has worked relentlessly throughout her career to advance the professional standards within the real estate industry not only through her volunteer efforts on various Realtor Association committees but through her dedicated career as a licensed continuing education instructor. She continues to train thousands of Realtors not only in the state of Illinois but nationwide garnering her accolades for her work as a leading real estate educator,” said Realtor Sheryl Grider Whitehurst, ABR, CRB, GRI, president of the Illinois Association of Realtors.

Madison is a member of the Board of Directors of the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors and is a past recipient of the Association’s Realtor of the Year award and Distinguished Service Award.

She is a former Dean of the Illinois Realtor Institute. She has been active in developing and delivering Illinois’ continuing education programs since 1992, and she is a certified continuing education instructor in over 40 states.

For the state association Madison has served on numerous committees including past chair of the IAR Professional Standards Committee, Convention Committee, Education Coordinating Committee and Political Fundraising Committee. She also has served on the Illinois License Law Rewrite Task Force, License Law Scope and Structure Working Group and Equal Opportunity Working Group and Strategic Planning Committee.

She has been a speaker for the National Association of Realtors (NAR) convention for over a decade and a senior instructor for the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC) and the Accredited Buyer’s Representative program. She was inducted into the REBAC Hall of Fame in 2004.

For 2011 she is a member of the Business Issues/License Working Group, Education Working Group, Equal Opportunity/Cultural Diversity Working Group, Professional Development Member Involvement Group and Professional Standards Committee.
