I am tired of everyone whining about prices. Low prices means your clients can get a steal. Maybe your commission might be slightly lower, but you know how you can fix that? Sell more houses. With prices this cheap your cruddy dud of a listing should fly off the market faster than you can say I have a kid trapped in a flying balloon! Put me on TV! On with the good stuff. Brian Buffini partnered with Fifth Third on his Turning Point seminar at the Intercontinental O’Hare on Oct. 13. There was a massive turnout, maybe because Buffini is so fun to say or maybe due to the Will Smith movie clips.
Boston-based Accelerated Marketing will be auctioning off the remaining units at Frankel & Giles Michigan Ave. Tower II on Nov. 15 and are going for FHA approval. MetLife Home Loans will be pre-approving buyers. Maybe Snoopy will be in attendance, though I was always more of a Woodstock fan myself. 1555 Wabash is matching the governments $8,000 tax credit with $8,000 of their own if first-time buyers close before Nov. 30. You know how many 40-foot marshmallow shooters you can buy from Skymall with that $16,000? Three hundred and twenty, I checked. Bill Davies has won the Old Post Office auction – for a second time. When he couldn’t make the payment on his first bid, a new auction was held. Davies won bidding $20.8 million – half of what he agreed to the first time around. Second place was 10.3 million; too bad Davies didn’t bid $10.4 million. Jameson held their legendary Crystal Ball on Oct. 21 at Old Town Social. The invite-only affair was on a smaller scale, but there were still plenty of sequined ladies walking around and a couple of wardrobe changes. I might I’ve had one too many cupcakes as I waited in a confessional booth for some tidbits. The people that work in the office, (which I do not, so stop incorrectly spreading my identity) want your help putting together the 2010 calendar. Give them a great idea and maybe you could be in the issue, or give them a bad idea and I will make fun of you. Any suggestions about a power couple issue will be swiftly ignored: agentx@chicago.staging312.com. Birthdays: Jim Roth and Ryan Steele will both celebrate on Nov. 9. No word on whether they will celebrate together or apart.
