Barrington is a wonderful community to live, work, recreate and raise a family. I love the small town feel and how great is it to walk or drive through town and have people either wave or give a quick toot of their car horn. From top-rated schools to the lush grounds of the award-winning Citizen’s Park, people of all generations fall in love with Barrington. Great access to transportation, including the Metra, makes Barrington a perfect place for commuters. The Arboretum of South Barrington is our open-air eco-friendly place to shop, dine and play only minutes from downtown Barrington.

Bridgeport, where I grew up, is a neighborhood that has a rich history rooted deep in Chicago politics. I grew up as one of the “Daley Clan’s” close neighbors. Bridgeport is home to Sox Park, where my brother sold hot dogs right outside of its gates. Bridgeport offers an ease of transition from a tight-knit family feel of the neighborhood to a busy commercial district of the Loop. It is only a 15 minute ride from downtown. Bridgeport was always a melting pot for immigrants, and has stayed a diversified area. Walking out of your front door in Bridgeport, you have all of Chicago at your feet.

I consider a visit to Wicker Park a cultural adventure, as it is a neighborhood with lots of character and appeal. There is plenty of entertainment with theaters, night life, trendy restaurants, galleries and fabulous boutiques. Summer festivals keep the neighborhood alive and its charm is enhanced by the architecture it exhibits: a combination of Victorian mansions, historic homes and contemporary structures. Its central location attracts residents who depend on public transportation. Wicker Park is a neighborhood full of vibrant energy alluring to visitors who enjoy its diversity, which has evolved through significant changes in its own culture.
