Baer Lofts, Bucktown

by Chicago Agent

Baer Lofts is one of Bucktown’s last remaining historic loft buildings. Funke Design is the architect that transformed the former Baer Fireproof Warehouse into 16 modern lofts above a two-story commercial space at 1927 N. Milwaukee Ave., near the intersection of Milwaukee/Armitage/Western Avenues and across from the Western Blue Line el stop.

The original brick is exposed and restored to preserve the historic city loft feel, while details were added to make each space bright and airy. The units include open floor plans, floor-to-ceiling sound-rated tinted windows with aluminum frames and 11- to 13-foot ceilings. There are organized closet spaces with extra storage on top, track lighting throughout and white ceilings.

Each residence is accented with high-end amenities such as 6-inch baseboards with 4-inch casings, 42-inch Hanak cabinets, stone countertops, undermount stainless steel sinks, 5-foot wide solid oak flooring and solid flat panel doors. There are Grohe, Toto and Kohler fixtures throughout. Guest and master bathrooms are appointed with Hanak Cabinets, three-quarter-inch stone countertops, frameless glass shower doors and slate or marble tiles.

In addition to the modern upgrades, Baer Lofts offers a range of environmental features and systems including a green rooftop, highly efficient heating and cooling systems and Energy Star appliances. Mike Vesole Group (MV|G) is offering a free MoPed, valued at $1,500, and a free MoPed parking space with each unit.

There are 16 uniquely-design modern loft spaces available for occupancy this summer. Prices range from $289,900 to $559,900. Indoor, heated parking spaces are available for $30,000.
