Mainstreet Station, a new condominium development in Evanston from Bernard Katz & Associates, is a nine-story building of 71 luxury residences in the northern suburb’s downtown.
“Our location, in the heart of Evanston, [is] directly across from the Metra Union Pacific North Line’s Main Street stop and the CTA’s Purple Line station,” says Daniel Katz of Highland Park-based Bernard Katz & Associates. Mainstreet Station is situated at the southeast corner of Main Street and Chicago Avenue.
There are 13 floor plans that range in size from 953 to 1,722 square feet, have one- or two-bedroom designs with one or two bathrooms, some with dens, and penthouses. Prices at Mainstreet Station start at $296,900 and go up to $553,900.
“The estimated move-in date for Mainstreet is still a year away,” says Katz, “giving buyers plenty of time to coordinate the sale of their existing home, plan the move, and smoothly transition into their new home.”
Helping early buyers make that transition, Katz is offering an incentive program: In order of buyer response and contract signing, the first five purchasers will receive $5,000 in upgrades and no maintenance fees for a full year. The next five to buy will get $2,500 in upgrades and no fees for a full year, and the 11th through the 15th buyers will receive $2,500 in upgrades and no fees for six months. In addition, one of the first 15 will be chosen at random to receive a second parking space in the heated indoor garage at no cost.
Most residences will include eat-in kitchens with granite countertops, custom 42-inch wood kitchen cabinets and deluxe appliances included as standard. Wood floors are also standard, and are included in the living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens and foyers. Most floor plans also have a full, in-unit laundry room. Each unit also has individually controlled central heating/cooling systems. On the fourth floor, select residences will come with huge terraces.
All residents have access to building amenities that include secure, indoor parking for each resident, a “green roof” on the fourth floor with a seating area, private fitness room, community meeting room, storage areas and high-speed elevators. The entire building is pre-wired for cable or satellite, high-speed Internet access and security, fire protection and emergency lighting systems.
