Sunset Point, Joliet

by Chicago Agent

Wauconda-based Deer Point Homes currently has many residences for sale at Sunset Point, a new community of 82 single-family homes in southwest-suburban Joliet.
Located on the south side of Joliet, near Interstate 53 and Pheasant Run Road, Sunset Point offers seven floor plans in ranch, split-level and two-story layouts. Homes measure 1,153 to 2,167 square feet and come standard with three to four bedrooms, one-and-one-half to two-and-one-half baths and attached two-car garages.

All floor plans include a family or great room, and several homes also offer a separate dining room and living room. Master bedrooms have walk-in closets, while kitchens include a pantry and breakfast nook. Homes also feature second-story lofts in some plans, while two designs have a second-floor laundry room. Base prices range from the $180,000s to the low-$200,000s.

Currently, several immediate-delivery homes are available in the community include the Dorsey, a 1,463-square-foot floor plan with three bedrooms, two-and-one-half baths and a full basement. The two-story home is priced at $220,174. Buyers also can choose the 1,784-square-foot Ellington, with three bedrooms and two-and-one-half baths. Priced at $229,698, the multi-level layout features a loft overlooking the kitchen as well as a private master suite on a separate level from the other bedrooms.

Another home available for viewing at Sunset Point features the Goodman floor plan, a 1,864-square-foot home with four bedrooms, two-and-one-half baths, a living and family room, and a full, unfinished basement, base-priced from the $220,000s.

The Goodman features modern décor, with furniture and wall colors in neutral shades complementing the upgraded maple hardwood floors throughout the first floor.

The kitchen has upgraded maple cabinets with crown molding, as well as features included in every home at Sunset Point: a gas range with hood; a dishwasher; and a double-bowl stainless steel sink. Just off the kitchen, the family room offers an electric fireplace and a television nook.

The first floor also includes a powder room and coat closet adjacent to the front entry. A laundry room off the family room provides access to the garage, which has a service door leading to the exterior.

Upstairs, the master suite is set to one side of the home and does not share walls with any of the secondary bedrooms. Three additional bedrooms on the upper level share access to a full, hall bath.

Sunset Point is close to major transportation routes, including Routes 53 and 80 and, coming soon, the Interstate 355 extension. For buyers who commute into Chicago, the community is near two Metra stations, Rock Island and Heritage Corridor.

The nearby Joliet City Center offers residents easy access to shops, restaurants, the Joliet Area Historical Museum and the Joliet Public Library. Local entertainment venues include the Joliet Jackhammers baseball park, Rialto Theatre and Harrah’s Casino.
