Printers Corner

by Chicago Agent

Printers Row, Chicago

Printers Corner, a 17-story contemporary mid-rise building by Winthrop Properties in Chicago’s historic Printers Row neighborhood, plans to break ground early next month, marking the end of a pre-construction incentive for buyers. For a limited time, however, buyers can still receive a $7,500 pre-construction credit at closing when they purchase a condominium at the development.

Located on the northeast corner of Polk and Wells, Printers Corner includes 88 condominiums, all of which are corner units. Floor plans include one, two and three-plus bedrooms with one to three baths, and measure from 743 to 2,290 square feet. Deeded parking spaces are available starting at $36,000.

All homes come with an extensive list of finishes, including one-and-one-quarter-inch granite kitchen countertops, imported Italian kitchen cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, hardwood flooring, floor-to-ceiling corner windows, crown moldings, a washer and dryer, a tech center, an oversized balcony and a 42-inch plasma television.

Bob Horner, co-principal of Winthrop Properties, says the homes are an exceptional value because of the quality finishes and design.

“These homes include all of the most desirable finishes in today’s new home market and more,” says Horner. “Most of our standard features are only available as costly upgrades in other developments.”

“By having the kitchen open to the great room, it allows the sunlight from the corner windows to be enjoyed from both rooms,” adds Horner “The clean sightlines make the home appear even larger than it is.”

In terms of functionality, Winthrop Properties worked to create homes that make the best use of space. Ibrahim Shihadeh, co-principal of Winthrop Properties, notes features like the tech centers and the free plasma television are included with space and functionality in mind.

“Space is at a premium in the city, and buyers cannot afford to purchase a home where it is wasted,” says Shihadeh. “The tech center creates a distinct and compact area for a computer and all that comes with it, such as the wires and printer. The tech center also includes storage for paperwork and bills, making it a practical solution to the traditional home office. Even the plasma TV saves the buyer space in the living area, creating a sleeker and cleaner look.”

“With the boom of new construction in Printers Row, buyers will find homes at Printers Corner to be something different, something a step above,” says Horner. “And right now, with the pre-construction incentive, the homes are an amazing value.”
