Russ Bergeron
CEO, Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC
Russ Bergeron of Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC (MRED) is a respected expert and leader of the real estate industry.
“I got into the real estate technology side by being in the right place at the right time – working for a company that was just entering the technology space that needed someone to help them transition into real estate data,” he says.
From his “accidental” start, Bergeron has managed to accomplish great things, including founding California Real Estate Technology Services, the largest MLS data sharing initiative in the United States, and building the Southern California MLS from 7,500 to 55,000 members at its peak. He has also been named one of Inman News’ Most Influential People in Real Estate for 2009, 2010 and 2011.
When he first arrived at MRED, Bergeron’s primary goal was to establish an atmosphere of collaboration so that everyone involved with projects knew that the customer came first. He always had a strong focus on customer service.
“At MRED, we are good at identifying those products or services that contribute to the success, productivity and profitability of our customers,” he says. “We are always on the lookout for a new product that we might be able to provide to our customers at no additional charge, or to provide a freemium model, whereby we offer a solid base product with opportunities for enhanced ‘premium’ versions.”
When not working, Bergeron’s other passion is his family, which includes his wife of nearly 40 years and his daughter.
“My wife and I have both reveled in watching our daughter grow and blossom into an awesome young lady and consummate professional in her own right,” he says.
