With 23 years in the business, Bill Katsoolias of Wintrust Mortgage has handled nearly every loan product available. An experienced mortgage loan professional, he has assisted an array of clients, analyzing their financing options and making sure each closing went smoothly. “I consistently review loan products to find the best lending opportunities for my customers,” he says.

In 2016, he set a goal to achieve triple digits in closings; he achieved it by the end of October. No doubt it was his energy and commitment that twice earned him the President’s Circle Winner with Wintrust Mortgage. He was also named a Five Star Mortgage Professional five times (2011-2016). “I believe hard work is the biggest attribute to my success,” he says.

Last year, Katsoolias was able to expand his market focus to include millennials, who are among the busiest home buyers in the Chicago area. About 50 percent of home transactions in the Chicago area last year involved first-time buyers, Katsoolias notes. He said he enjoys helping these clients secure the right loans and experience a seamless loan process.

From his office in Libertyville, Katsoolias assists homebuyers throughout the Chicagoland area. For clients planning to build a new home, he offers construction-to-permanent loans that provide a single close. “It’s important to never stop learning,” he says. He keeps current with the industry through membership in the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago, the Home Builders Association of Illinois, and the National Association of Home Builders.

Katsoolias prides himself on being knowledgeable and trustworthy, with only the best intentions for his customers. He credits his success with having a positive attitude. His idea of fun when he is not at work is competing in triathlons. “It had been a couple of years since I completed a triathlon,” he says, “but after getting back into it in 2016, it felt good enough that I signed up for a couple more in 2017.” He is certainly willing to go the distance for his clients as well.
