With degrees in both history and fine & decorative arts, Lisa Nederlander imagined a career at Sotheby’s or Christie’s auction house. She did find a home at Christie’s, but as a broker for @properties Christie’s International Real Estate in Southeast Michigan. She honed her skills for the first 12 years of her successful real estate career with the prestigious Corcoran Group in Manhattan. It was there that Nederlander came to see selling homes as an art in itself. She returned home to the Birmingham area and over the past nine years has established herself as a leader in metro Detroit.
Not only was Nederlander recently named @properties CIRE’s Top Sales Agent for Total Sales Volume, she was consistently a member of the Presidents Club at her prior firm, Max Broock Realtors. Before that, she was member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club for most her career with Corcoran. She maintains her New York real estate license alongside her Michigan license.
Nederlander credits her experience and training for the high level of service that sets her apart today. “Clients know that I can shoulder most of the burden and advise wisely on next steps,” she explains, adding that for sellers, her full-service operation provides a wealth of resources to prepare a home for market. “I hire and manage the trades, which takes a lot of the responsibility off of my clients. This is a big relief for them and they are grateful for this.”
True to her roots, Nederlander stays connected to the art world as a board member for the Friends of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Detroit Institute of Arts. She also stays involved in a variety of cultural and philanthropic activities.
