Michelle Schroeder & Britain Shutters, Realtors

The Going Beyond Group, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago

Recognizing their shared interest for going above and beyond the transaction, Michelle Schroeder and Britain Shutters decided to partner together as the Going Beyond Group. “Our business is focused more on relationships than transactions,” they say. “Clients appreciate how diligently and effectively we work during the process, which empowers them to make decisions based on our professional and expert guidance.”

Having advised clients in hundreds of transactions during their 10 years of combined experience, business partners Schroeder and Shutters are Realtors with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago. They cover the Chicagoland area with other members of their group and work with buyers, sellers, investors and commercial clients.

With a degree in scenic design from the University of Illinois Chicago, Schroeder worked in special events for 10 years before starting this career. Shutters has a degree in communications and studied interior design at the University of Minnesota. She was an administrative professional for 15 years before joining this industry. Crediting their success to their combined creative problem-solving skills and perseverance, they are able to help clients visualize how a space fits their needs while being organized and tactical in this competitive market. Longtime friends, they met working on a storefront theater production, and Schroeder even helped Shutters buy her first home.

BHHS Chicago awarded Schroeder its Chairman’s Circle Gold award in 2021, President’s Circle award in 2022 and Leading Edge Society award in 2023. She received the Five Star Professional Award in 2019 and was named the Chicago Reader’s “Best of Local” runner-up in the real estate agent category for 2020. BHHS Chicago presented Shutters with the Trailblazer and the Honor Society Award in 2022, and she was a nominee for the Rookie of the Year award from Chicago Agent magazine in 2023. Both team members are active in their community, belong to the Inner Circle Network and proudly support PAWS Chicago, AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Garfield Park Conservatory, Habitat for Humanity, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Kindness Foundation, Nourishing Hope and Sunshine Kids Chicago.
