In the industry since 2005, Julie Stanczak is a broker with The LAKE Group at COMPASS, representing first-time homebuyers, sellers, luxury homes and empty nesters throughout the city and surrounding suburbs. “Working with buyers and sellers in Oak Park and surrounding areas is my absolute favorite,” she says. “I just love the architecture and nuances of those neighborhoods and homes.” An Oak Park resident herself since 2004, she says it’s a good feeling to be able to promote an area she truly loves living in herself and building that personal connection with her clients. “Developing relationships is what I love most about this profession,” she explains. “I feel that helps me serve my clients and their needs to the best of my abilities, not to mention making the whole process that much more enjoyable for everyone.”
Taking full advantage of social media marketing, Stanczak and her team use the platform to reach potential clients and grow their business. “We started creating videos, which has turned into a hugely impactful development,” Stanczak says. “People enjoy looking at gorgeous homes, and video is a great way to connect with possible buyers.” She posts through @juliestanczak_chitownrealtor and also emails a monthly newsletter to clients who are not on social media. “My goal is to provide entertaining and helpful content without becoming overbearing or turning into spam,” she adds.
Stanczak joined the Lake Group at Compass in 2020 and credits much of her recent success to this move. She appreciates learning new marketing techniques and having the opportunity to bounce ideas off teammates. “No matter how many years I’ve been in this business, I still come across new situations all the time,” she says. “It’s helpful to have team members to reach out to who may have been through a similar experience to talk things through.”
When not working, Stanczak enjoys running outdoors to stay active and clear her mind. She and her husband also stay busy with their three kids and dog and enjoy taking advantage of all that their neighborhood and Chicago offer. “We live on an amazing block, which makes socializing easy as there are always neighbors around,” she says. “Impromptu happy hours on the front porch are my favorite!”
