Jeff Gregory has advice for newcomers to the industry: “When people tell you that you can’t be successful if you don’t have a ‘sphere’ to work, don’t listen to them. I moved to Joliet 21 years ago and started in real estate without knowing anyone in the area.”
If anyone is qualified to give that advice, it’s Gregory. Chair of the Board of Managers for Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED), he is a recipient of the Illinois REALTORS®’ Presidential Medallion for service and a member of the National Association of Realtors’ RPAC Hall of Fame.
Gregory has served eight terms as chair of MRED’s Board of Managers, a position that allows him to guide the growing MLS that serves Illinois and contains listings from states throughout the Midwest. As owner and designated managing broker of Realty Executives Success, he assists buyers and sellers at all price points in Joliet and the surrounding communities, who frequently compliment him on his availability and response time.
“It’s always so flattering to see/read/hear clients say kind things after a transaction is over,” he says. “My most rewarding moments are when friends and past clients refer their adult ‘kids’ to me — I find that act to be the ultimate sign of confidence in me.”
Gregory always tries to keep the process lighthearted. “Stress eventually finds its way into almost every real estate transaction,” he says. “But more often than not, laughter seems to make everything a bit easier to process.”
Honored with the Great Lakes Region Industry Leadership Award from Realty Executives, he’s also a member of the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors and the Three Rivers Association of Realtors. Most notably, he served as Three Rivers’ president in 2008 and was designated Realtor of the Year by the association.
Aside from real estate, Gregory is a founder and the president of Joliet Pride Network, a group that strives to provide activities and safe spaces for the LGTBQ+ community. “I am so proud of our group and the positive impact that it has made in Joliet and the surrounding area.”
