Buying a home can be stressful, but Jacob Oakley tries his best to make it easy by being available to clients every step of the way.
“The more comfortable the client feels about the mortgage, the better their overall experience is going to be,” says Oakley, senior home lending advisor with JPMorganChase. “Whether it’s a first-time homebuyer or someone buying their fifth home, I always make sure they understand the gameplan we put together.”
Named a Chase National Achiever for the past two years, Oakley ranks among the lender’s Top 100 Advisors nationwide. “My team and I are process driven, which helps with organization when you have a number of deals going on at any one time,” he says. “There are a lot of variables outside of your control. But if you can own your day-to-day and fine-tune that process, then everything else will take care of itself.”
Oakley started his career at Chase in 2018 as a private client banker, gaining exposure to many different lines of business and collaborating with industry partners. When interest rates started to drop a year later, he shifted his focus to mortgages and providing clients lending solutions. His passion for and focus on lending led him to a home lending advisor role originating loans.
Oakley’s knowledge of the financial industry goes beyond lending. He previously held securities licenses but has spent the majority of his career with JPMorganChase. “Having worked in the branch setting allows me to bring more value to my clients when discussing the goal of buying a new home,” he says.
Always striving for ways to perfect his craft, Oakley learns from others on his team and fellow lending advisors in the Chicago Central office as they problem-solve together. In his free time, he takes part in natural bodybuilding competitions and works on renovating his own multiunit property.
