Serving over 15,500 real estate practitioners, the Chicago Association of REALTORS® provides education, advocacy and resources for its members and their clients. Its dedicated leadership team is known for reflecting the association’s diverse membership.

Michelle Mills Clement spent her first year as CEO listening to and engaging with CAR’s members. In response, she has led the creation and implementation of a strategic plan that will expand market opportunities for Chicago REALTORS® of all specialties. “We’re enhancing tools for commercial members, ramping up advocacy and getting members more involved in our communities,” she says. “We’re an all-encompassing association, providing our members with the support they need to continue to develop Chicago’s vibrant neighborhoods.”

Tommy Choi is known for several things — big goals and style, among them. He has been instrumental in bolstering the association’s education programming, bringing in peers from around the country to talk about top-producing tools and strategies. “We should always be pushing the bar, so our content isn’t just textbook stuff,” he says. “We should look at each other as members of a community, not competition, because we know how big the pie is. We can all share and learn from each other.”

Not only is Maurice Hampton the president-elect of CAR, a CEO and a successful broker, he’s also a popular instructor at CAR’s REALTORS® Real Estate School. Through his mentorship, he has helped numerous real estate professionals achieve success. He’s also heavily involved in the international real estate community and CAR’s Global Real Estate Council. “Chicago is ripe with opportunity,” he says. “It’s important to expose that to the rest of the world.”

Nykea Pippion McGriff is passionate about helping members utilize the tools and services available to them. She’s a Midwest Real Estate Data trainer and the president of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Illinois. Actively involved in the association’s public policy initiatives, she also serves the national association as a federal political coordinator to Rep. Bobby Rush. “I love being an advocate for my colleagues, clients and industry,” she says. “I’m proud of the relationship I’ve built with Rep. Rush to ensure our voices are heard.”

Rebecca Thomson is the real deal. As a sought-after strategist and speaker, she is at the forefront of industry change, corporate culture shifts and the evolving needs of consumers. “Our industry affords us much opportunity, and the only limits we have are the ones we place on ourselves,” she says. “We need to be proactive; our clients expect more, and our association provides incredible tools to ensure we deliver.”
