Who’s in Your Little Black Book?

by Chicago Agent

Realtors can count on referrals for more than just clients, according to our readers – 39 percent were referred to the most important contact in their “little black books.” Thirty-seven percent of agents did business with their most important contact, and therefore, know firsthand the great work that person is capable of.

With 41 percent of readers’ votes, lenders top the list of most important affiliates agents should know, followed by attorneys at 29 percent, handymen at 16 percent, a managing broker at 10 percent, and top producers and other tradespeople each accounting for 2 percent.

“It is always good to have at least five referrals to pass on to your clients.”
Colleen Bansley, Realtor, CONLON: A Real Estate Company

“Realtors are point people. We are the people who point clients to the handyman, painter, attorney and lender. We must keep several reputable referrals in our ‘little black book’ to remain professional.”
Jacqueline Kaufmann, broker, Prudential First Realty
