The fall is full of association installations, and this year, the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance took full advantage of the season.
On Oct. 17, the Alliance hosted Night of Illusions, a masquerade mixer celebrating the incoming board. Patrick Torres, of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, was inducted as president; David Tomczak, of PrimeLending, as vice president; Brian Somera, of Coldwell Banker Realty, as membership director; Dave Camp, of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, as treasurer; and Tim Knipper, of Sotheby’s International Realty, as secretary. Patrick Lynch, of eXp Realty, and Zack Wahlquist, of the Chicago Association of REALTORS®, were inducted as members-at-large.
Roughly 60 people attended the Halloween-themed party, which took place at The Newport Theater. The evening featured a meet-and-greet with board members, hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, live entertainment — including a drag show — and a colorful costume contest, won by David Thompson, the owner of Thompson Interior Designs. (He donned a Rocco Venetian masquerade ensemble.)
“Congratulations Patrick Torres on your installation as President of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance! Your leadership is truly inspiring, and I have no doubt that your vision and dedication will make a tremendous impact on both the organization and the community. Wishing you great success as you continue to champion inclusion and diversity in the real estate industry!”
