Families around the world watched as Macaulay Culkin defended his family home from burglars Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern in the 1990 hit film “Home Alone.” That home, a red, brick, four-bedroom Colonial located in Winnetka, recently sold for $1.585 Million.
The iconic home’s sale was made by one of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s own broker associates, Marissa Hopkins.
The Colonial Georgian home sits on a half-acre lot, just blocks from the historic village center of Winnetka and Lake Michigan. The house was listed at $2.4 million, but sold for $1.585 million, according to Curbed.com.
The previous owners of the home, John and Cynthia Abendshien, lived in the house during much of “Home Alone’s” filming, and got to keep many of the movie’s props. Coincidentally, they were also the owners of the home featured in John Hughes’ “Uncle Buck.”
