Realtors at The Matt Laricy Group share a motto: “You get out what you put in.” This is a mantra that Matt Laricy, the group’s founder, has modeled his life and career around. His father, a real estate veteran with more than 35 years of experience, was the one who imparted this wisdom. “The most valuable piece of advice he ever gave me was that results are directly related to effort,” Laricy says. Ten years ago, Laricy began focusing his business on downtown Chicago, and he says he has come a long way from the days when he had no office presence. Last year he landed several multimillion-dollar sales while consistently growing his group’s luxury client base. And his hard work shows. For the second year in a row Laricy has been featured among the top 500 agents in the nation by REAL Trends.

“Our goal was to do more than we did the previous year,” he explains, adding that last year his team generated a 20 percent growth over the previous year. He credits this to the hard work of his team members, and he has been able recently to add to their ranks. “It’s hard to find the time to sell, manage and find the right people, but the extra effort was worth it,” he says.
“I think the energy and relationships are much stronger now than ever before.”

Laricy prides his team on its customer service. “We offer things that most people don’t,” he says. “We care about building relationships, and our reviews speak to that. We are honest. We are who we are and we don’t change to make money. People respect that.” To Laricy, good relationships with his team members are just as important as the relationships with clients. He says his team members feel comfortable with one another, like a family. “It’s not about one person, but about a group coming together as one,” he says. “Anyone who works with us can feel that.”
