With 29 years in the real estate industry, Debbie Maue’s high energy and drive has made her the go-to agent for her clients. Maue has assisted families with purchasing their first home, then decades later helped that same family find a condo or apartment for their grown child. She says her biggest sales accomplishment last year was working on the eighth sale for a family she has been assisting throughout her career. Her loyal clients aren’t the only ones who notice Maue’s hard work and success. Both Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty and the Chicago Association of Realtors has listed Maue as a Top Producer since 2006.

Maue has earned many industry designations over her career. She is a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS), a Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI) and is a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS). But before Maue received any of these certifications, she entered real estate in a roundabout way.

When she moved back to Chicago from Florida at age 19, she was sleeping on her friends’ couches and wondered what to do next. Someone suggested she apply for a job renting apartments. While she received her marketing degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, she decided to try her hand at real estate and was almost instantly successful. “I was renting apartments six or seven days a week for up to 10 hours each day, between waitressing and bartending shifts, and right after going to class,” she remembers.

Maue has served as the 2010 president of FIABCI Chicago, 2010 Chicago International Real Estate Council chair, 2008-2009 NAR president’s liaison to Costa Rica, and spent the last three years as president of Realtors to the Rescue. Additionally, Maue has been involved with several nonprofits including four Ironman Triathlons for charity and boxing in the fourth annual Chicago Real Estate Rumble to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chicago. Moving forward, Maue strives to continue her philanthropic endeavors and fostering positive relationships with her clients. “I’m not in it for just this one deal,” she says, “but to take care of them and help them and their friends and family years to come.”
