Nadia Rahmani
Broker Associate
Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty
Nadia Rahmani’s fluency in English, Spanish, French, and Arabic make her the Realtor of choice for both U.S. and international buyers. Born in Morocco, then raised and educated in France, she is a Chicago Association of Realtors top producer and was pro led last year as an expert in The Wall Street Journal’s article on the competitive edge multilingualism offers in real estate. Rahmani draws inspiration from her love of beautiful homes and interior design, but credits her passion for people as her primary motivation. “I love meeting people from all over the world and I want to make them happy by helping them get what they want. The process can be stressful and I want to make it easier on them.”
Rahmani’s professional path prepared her for success in Chicago’s complex and vibrant real estate market. After earning her Master of Business Administration in France, she went on to live and study in Spain and then work as an international product manager. Nearly 20 years ago she moved to Chicago and launched a Moroccan imports home décor boutique in Andersonville. “The skills I strengthened in sales, marketing, strategy and, most importantly, customer service over the years prepared me for success as a Realtor,” she explains.
“The ability to speak four languages allows me to connect with people and create a special kind of bond that puts them at ease,” she says. “Sometimes I don’t know a client’s first language and they don’t know mine, but we share a second or third language. That’s when the gift of multilingualism allows me to cross cultures.” About 60 percent of her transactions are with international clients. “Some international buyers are so comfortable with me because I speak their language that they purchase a property sight unseen!” says Rahmani, who describes the Windy City as “amazingly cosmopolitan” thanks to its diverse population of residents. “I’m so glad that my affiliation with an internationally respected brokerage like Sotheby’s allows me to work closely with foreign clientele.”
Rahmani says her husband, Noufel, and two children, Ines and Rayan, are her cheerleaders and biggest supporters. “I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without them, because they understand what it takes to be successful in this industry and they motivate me to be a better person every day,” she says. Rahmani believes in over delivering in everything she does, especially when it comes to real estate. “I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy a career that allows me to become friends with some of the most amazing people in the world from around the globe,” she says, “and it’s both my pleasure and my mission to help ease their transition to our fabulous city.”
