Former college football captain John Noldan knows how to rally and inspire a team, so it should come as no surprise that his team at Guaranteed Rate never fails to break its annual production record. They closed $63 million in 2012, a number that skyrocketed to exceed $150 million in 2015 with more than 600 transactions. The Illinois Mortgage Brokers Association named Noldan the “Best in Business Lender” last year, and Scotsman Guide has recognized him for purchase volume and units closed. In addition, Noldan holds a place in Guaranteed Rate’s Chairman’s Circle for closing more than $150 million in volume, and holds a Five-Star Professional Award for his outstanding contribution to the industry.

A Benedictine University graduate with a degree in political science, Noldan always planned to work in a field that would allow him to meet and build relationships with people. In fact, he says the favorite part of his career is partnering with clients to make them comfortable during the mortgage lending process. “I want them to know we’ll handle every detail with careful attention,” he says. His acumen for customer service has enabled him to grow his production and increase his referral-based business. More than 90 percent of Noldan’s business is dedicated to purchase transactions.

Noldan serves first-time buyers, including those with FHA and VA loans, as well as clients who need a jumbo mortgage. He also helps homeowners who wish to refinance their current loan with low interest rates. With more than 14 years in the industry, Noldan has learned to systemize how he executes every loan, resulting in a streamlined process that minimizes stress and allows him to close transactions within two weeks. “That quick turnaround is unheard of in this industry, and I take pride in sharing my strategies with others so they can enjoy the same success I’ve experienced.” In addition to mentoring other loan officers, Noldan believes in keeping his agent partners well informed of his approach to their clients’ financing, ensuring that they are in the loop from start to finish.

Noldan serves on the executive board of the Catholic Charities and helps many local charitable foundations. He also enjoys spending time with his family and traveling when his schedule permits. The friendships often resulting from his hard work, commitment to excellence, and ongoing communication with all parties are an aspect of his career that he treasures. “What I enjoy most about my career is not only helping people accomplish one of the biggest investments they’ll ever make, but also knowing I’m meeting wonderful people along the way,” he says.
